We Are Hiring

It’s Spring in Arizona.  The wildflowers are in full bloom the Mexican Poppies have been stunning and the Brittlebush is in full glory, everyone on the street is smiling, reminded again of the rhythm of the seasons.

Another rhythm that shapes our lives at Blueprint Education has also come.  For the past year we investigated adding a full time grant writer to our team.  We looked at a contract position, part-time and full time.  We thought long and hard on our approach to fund development and broke it down into two areas:  fund raising and grant writing.  Based on our non-profit status, operating for forty-plus years, offering non-traditional education services to elementary and high school students we had a much better shot at writing grants than organizing golf tournaments or soliciting donations.

So we are hiring.  We plan to hire one grant writer who will work out of our main office in Glendale, Arizona, spend a number of months fully understanding our organization inside and out and hit the ground running.  Here is a rough cut of the job description.

The Grant Writer at Blueprint Education will develop partnerships and attain funding for Division projects and expand Division goals; coordinate, monitor, manage, modify, and prepare reports on federal, state, and private programs and grants; align Division goals to grant opportunities and coordinate the delivery of services for students through grant and other special funding in all school settings; manage and report grant expenditures during and upon completion of grant life.

Primary Duties:

• Facilitates the Design, Development and Writing of Grants to Support Strategic and Tactical Planning
• Conducts Comprehensive Analysis and Research on State and Federal Competitive and Entitlement Grants
• Coordinates and Facilities Strategic Partnerships to Ensure High Quality Competitive and Entitlement Grants
• Provides Effective and Efficient Communication and Dissemination to All Stakeholders
• Budget Management as Required by Federal Regulations, State Statues and Uniform Systems of Financial Reporting

 Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in English, Education, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with comprehensive knowledge in grant development and management.  Other combinations of education and or experience that we would consider is a Master’s Degree and a minimum of three years successful experience in writing grants.

Ideal Candidate would have:

• Ability to synthesize large quantities of data and research and draw conclusions to make recommendations
• Techniques in studying education programs
• Competence in educational methods and practices which include analysis of qualitative and quantitative research
• Computer Literate: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, email, internet and social networking tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective planning, organizational, management and customer service skills
• Exceptional technical writing skills

Specialized training, certifications, or other special requirements include:

• Grant writing and management training preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

The right candidate will have experience working with the following programs or schools:  online distance learning, alternative education or behavioral, therapeutic health and Federal/State schools or Charters.
