Setting Goal Timelines

Have you ever had several months to complete a huge project?  From the beginning how to do see the light at the end of the tunnel?

Many students are starting school this month and that is how they feel with at least four new courses to complete in a semester.  Piles of books in their lockers and exams at the end…how to they prepare? And, Blueprint Education allows students to work on their courses in a self-paced format, which can be tricky for high school aged student.

One tip for students is to create a Personal Goal Timeline.  Look at the big picture and break it down into smaller chunks.  Students can set small goal timelines along the way so they are not left with a semesters worth of work to complete in two weeks.

Below is a template that Hope High School Online (Blueprint Education’s virtual high school) provides for their students.  It breaks down a semesters worth of lessons (15 lessons and 2 exams) into weekly deadlines for students.  File Attachment: Personal Goal Timeline.pdf (321 KB)

This template is just the start of helping students feel like they can overcome the challenges they face at the beginning of a school year.  What can you do to help?
