My Action Plan

Few times in life does one get a chance to attend a conference that leads to a switch in life’s priorities both personally and professionally.  In August, 2009, I got that chance when I attended The Leadership Summit.  Click here for my blog following that conference.

From this summit, I have made an action plan that is applicable to both my personal and professional life.  This four-step action plan is something I can refer to daily (if needed) to guide my life’s decisions.  Each action step was influenced by a speaker at The Leadership Summit.  Their names are listed after each step.

Action Steps:

  1. Open my eyes to outliers as they will help me overcome denial (even denial I do not know is present). Gary Hamel
  2. Remember Failure is Success!  Dave Gibbons Third Culture idea is summarized in this video. http://3culture.tv/
  3. Take time to journal for reflection. Bill Hybels
  4. Read daily. David Gergen

These four steps seem to be common sense, yet they are challenging.  I accept the challenge!  In future blogs, I will describe how these steps influence my life.  I hope the affects make this world a better place.
